A complete 6 ft extension cord with the Smart Cord Guardian built into the plug. It monitors the cord's electrical health in real time and warns you on its display and status lights.

What it does

• Live voltage, current and power on the built-in display

• Cord health score from 0 to 100 that only goes down, based on recorded overcurrent, overheating and outlet-voltage events and plug/unplug cycles

• Status lights set by the health score: green from 100 to 61 (good), yellow from 60 to 31 (warning: stress or a fault was detected, so check the log), red from 30 to 0 (unsafe: replace the cord). The Cord Health screen shows the status as Excellent, Good, Check Soon or Replace

• On-screen alerts: STOP USE for overload or overheating, CHECK CORD for outlet-voltage problems. Press SET to acknowledge; the event and its score deduction stay on record

• Non-resettable lifetime counters: total plug/unplug cycles and totals for overcurrent, overheating and voltage events

• Event history stored on the device, designed to hold at least 500 events; when storage is full, the oldest records are overwritten

• No app, Wi-Fi or account needed

• Patent-pending groove-grip ground prong: twist it out by hand and replace it in seconds, no tools or rewiring. A red line shows if it isn't fully seated

The Smart Cord Guardian monitors and warns. It does not switch off power by itself and cannot guarantee that a fire will never happen. Not yet UL or ETL certified.
